I read almost everything in the 3 sample chapters. Wow, I love the way she writes. I love the feeling she gives you of actually visiting those places. She talks to children in a way that engages their imagination, but she doesn't talk down to them. I enjoyed reading it so much that I didn't want to stop. The pictures she has chosen are perfect for making you feel like you are there, while making you wish you could go there and see them in person. I would love to study geography using these books. I love the way she keeps bringing in the ways that God has made the Earth and how that affects what people do in each place. She ties together other learning such as history and literature with the places she tells about. And the Bible is always central to what she teaches. I love this book!

Wow! I love the conversational tone of this. While it is very warm, welcoming, and casual, there is still so much depth and detail. In each of the sample chapters, I learned some new geography myself! Not only would it be an incredible educational tool for my children, but I'd be learning new things right along with them. In my estimation, homeschooling doesn't get any better than that!

Just a few minutes reading through the sample pages and I knew this is one book that I'd love to use with my children. I have been looking into curriculum that will help us understand the culture and geography of the land of the Middle East so that we can better understand the prophecies of the events and history that are taking place surrounding these countries. I feel this book will do the job wonderfully! Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of this book.

Since we will be starting with Old Testament History this fall, A Child's Geography of the Holy Land would fit right in wouldn't it?!
This would be easy enough for my 1st grader, but more importantly, I could easily see my 8th & 9th grade boys using this also! We did World Geography last year, so this would be a "stress-free" way for them to focus on the areas we are studying for Old Testament History!

We're planning to use A Child's Geography this fall, and I'd love to have this next book in the series "waiting in the wings." As I'm beginning to lesson plan around the first book, there are so many features I like, including the "bringing it home" and the idea of a travel-log or postcard to inspire narration. I'm glad to see those features carry over here. And I love the idea of the prayer walks -- we do those for our local area, so incorporating walks where we pray for the world is a wonderful thought!
