Free Ticket to UHSE!

Hi friends,

This is a fun giveaway! Cindy Rushton is allowing me to give away a free ticket to the UHSE (Ultimate Homeschool Expo). Have you been thinking about attending this online event - the largest of its kind for the homeschooling community? It is going to be very fun.

I feel privileged to be one of the 35 speakers and my session is on Wednesday (June 3rd) at 2:00pm CST on the topic of the 7 Essential Ingredients to Homeschooling Success. I hope that you will join me.

Here's what you will need to do in order to enter the drawing for the free ticket:

1. Visit this webpage - http://tinyurl.com/q2xtbx - and skim through the conference info.
2. Tell us what you think by leaving a comment here on the blog.
3. Include your email or blog address so that we can contact you if you win.

That's it! Enter the drawing quickly, because we'll draw our winner in time to be included in the entire week long event which starts at 10:00am CST on June 1st. So, we'll conduct our drawing at 9:30am so that you won't miss anything. Sound good?

Hope to see you online at the conference!

Terri

What do I think? I think it sounds WONderful! I'm very familiar with some of these folks and I respect them a great deal. Even as a veteran homeschooler, I know there is always more for me to learn - especially from the line up of speakers in this Expo!

I have to say, however, that the absolute BEST part of this whole concept is that you don't have to sign in "live" to reap the benefits of these seminars or to access the freebies and drawings. As a military wife stationed overseas, I frequently find myself "cut off" from my homeschooling friends when I most need support - I'm a day ahead and it makes me feel behind. Add in the fact that while there are homeschoolers on our island, but no conventions, and you can imagine how lonely I feel at times!

This is a great concept - many thanks to all the speakers for participating and best of luck to you all! And Terri - thanks for posting the contest - what a wonderful opportunity for the winner. :-)

I hope to win because I can't listen in next week, but it is nice that the discussions will be posted and available whenever it is convenient.

I have been looking forward to Cindy's UHSE this year. I missed out last year. I have been listening to some of the preview shows as my schedule allows. I am most excited about the kid's classes. I think it will be fun for my children to be able to have a class from someone other than me. I'd love to win as we don't have the funds to buy a ticket at this time.
Thanks for doing this Cindy & Terri.

This year is so full of exciting workshops. I can't believe how much Cindy has managed to cram into UHSE. I was blessed last year as a brand new homeschooler by Cindy's UHSE and this year is heading to even bigger blessings

I love it that the sessions are live but "saved" at the same time. It will be so great to be able to listen to EVERY session and not have to pick and choose - "Which will I go to and which ones will I have to miss?"

This looks amazing! How fun and wonderful that you don't have to go anywhere with gas prices to reap the benefits of so much knowledge and experience!

Thanks for posting an opportunity to win.

I was looking at the info on the Expo last week - drooling!!! I would love to be able to be a part of this this year. I missed last year's but heard rave reviews!

The best part is that I don't need to find a babysitter for my 5 dc! I can just listen in when the kids are in bed and the house is quiet. :)

Thanks for sharing this opportunity!

Wow! I can't believe how many seminars are offered. The ones that caught my eye are "Fitting in Fitness" (which we have a hard time doing) and "Teaching Science Out of the Box" (my 4th grader wants to study Chemistry next year and I'm not sure how I'm going to do that).
I love the idea of an online conference because we always have a hard time finding babysitters and the money to go to a traditional conference. So I would LOVE to win a ticket!

Wow, I'd heard of this before but thought you had to listen live, which could be difficult in a house full of kids. ;-) This looks awesome, I'm especially intrigued by the Life in the Fishbowl workshop and the virtual vendor hall. Too cool!

What a sweet give-away you two ladies have come up with!!! I was able to join in the UHSE last year and it blessed my socks off! I've been homeschooling for 6 years now (unless you count from birth then it's been 12 years!) and I am still learning so much! I feel like I can always find new ways to improve my teaching methods. Plus the spiritual encouragement during the UHSE for us as parents is amazing!
Thanks agian for the chance to participate in this wonderful giveaway! I'd love to join you gals again this year!!!

Cindy Rushton puts together THE best workshops and conferences. I have most of her conferences saved to my computer and still go back and listen to them all the time. I LOVE how everything is so organized and saved on a website that you have access to long after the conference is over. Her conferences are always new and refreshing, packed full of great information and encouragement! I thoroughly enjoy all the great speakers! Thanks again!

I think the seminars listed truly offer "something for everyone". The seminars will help the new homeschooler get off to a fantastic start and the veteran homeschooler to recharge their batteries!

The last year has been truly rough for us and my batteries could surely use a recharge.

I love Cindy's UHSE! That's what I think and I don't think I could ever tell enough people. Cindy herself inspires and enlightens me; through the Holy Spirit, she always manages to lift me up and offer hope when all I see is chaos. The speakers who also speak at the UHSE have helped me so much as well in the past. I listen to last year's UHSE while I'm on the treadmill in the morning and I am absolutely inspired to begin the day with my children. Because we are not able to purchase (even for the awesome sale amount) the UHSE this year, and our internet connection is so wiggy that I can't count on listening in live, I was really thinking I would miss out. But not if I win this contest!!! So, thank you Terri for offering that possibility.

I love the fact that I can get all of the workshops as MP3s, since I don't really have enough time in any one week to listen to all of the material offered in the workshops...I can listen and be edified while I clean the house, cook dinner, or on one of those many sleepless nights...and the goodie bag looks like like a lot of fun too! I would be SOOO pleased to win a membership for this year's convention!

I was able to get in on the conference last year, after the fact, and am still listening to some of the conferences from that. With job losses and everything else, I had determined it wasn't going to happen this year. I'm totally impressed with the lineup -- my 2nd son would love for me to attend the homeschooling in the kitchen one. I think I need the one about putting first things first.

I'm excited for someone to be able to go for free. Thanks for doing this!

With finances the way they are this year, we couldn't afford to attend a live homeschool conference or even buy a ticket for this. With 8 children, and 2 more coming this summer (ages 7 and 9 from Haiti), I can always use some good doses of encouragement and ideas to stick with homeschooling!

Hi! I was really excited to receive your e-mail, offering to give away a ticket to Cindy’s UHSE. You see, we are a military family, and on a VERY tight budget. So much so I couldn’t afford to purchase a ticket. I have perused the UHSE website for days, just wanting “to go”! We have just finished our first full school year and I am now searching for new curriculum, for both my present homeschooler (a DD), and possible other DD of high school age (that one has me excited and scared all at once—LOL!). Anyway, thank you Terri and Cindy for all that you do! :o)

I got to "attend" last year's UHSE and would love to win a ticket to this year's. There are so many excellent workshops. When you go to a physical conference you have to choose one workshop and miss all the others at the same time (or pay above and beyond the conference price to get recordings of the missed sessions); That's not the case here--not only can you be part of every session, you can listen to them over and over again.

Just one small question since I did not see the information -- Will there be any shipping fees involved? What I mean is: When I purchase something from a vendor in connection with the Expo, will they charge shipping fees during this time (for a period of 30 days, for example)?
My next and final question-- If I'm not expecting too much----- If I win the free ticket to the EXPO will I get my $39.95 back? I don't see how I could wait and hope for the free ticket, then not win and have to pay at the last minute. So, today I am just about to pay for one ticket to the EXPO.
Thank you.

Hi, I looked at the online site for Cindy's UHSE. 3-words-AWESOME/AWESOME/AWESOME. This would be a dream of mine. Presently my family consists of Me- a single Mom and two teens, 15 and 17. The 17 year old is a brain tumor survivor, 2006. He still has a rare syndrome P.F.S and a piece of tumor is growing=slowly. We have been home schooling since second grade. There has never been an opportunity for us to attend a curriculum convention. Lack of finances, time and travel means. I work full time, manage a home, feed the poor, mission at church and home school. With high school being so demanding, this would be a huge blessing. Both teens plan to go to college. One for nursing, and one for music therapy. Every year ,we have no clue, where the money is coming from for the curriculum!!! By faith, God provides. It was an online site like this that gave me the courage to accomplish this task. We will definitely email this online information to our Home school friends. P.S. My maiden name is: Terry Johnson. Thank you for encouraging all of us to continue to stay in the race!! Blessings from Terry, C.J., and Becca {liv2belikejesus@yahoo.com}.

Terri, I am intrigued with the idea of the UHSE. I have tried to make it a point to attend a hs conference every year as a way to regroup and be refreshed for another year of instructing my sons. The online approach is a novel idea in so many ways. I am working FT as we wait for God to lead us into ministry and it is nearly impossible to attend a conference outside the home because of the already overwhelming daily tendings I face. I really like that I wouldn't have to miss any classes I'd be interested in since they are ALL "taped". Plus, they are offering classes for the kids and one son will be home alone for a week; maybe there's a class he could join in on during that time and give him a change of pace for that week. We are winding down homeschooling with our oldest yet I still enjoy listening to veteran homeschoolers because I know there is something I can glean from others and implement here. Thanks for the offer and I look forward to being able to participate either way, win or not.

This sounds so neat! I have attended a few workshops in my local area and it is so frustrating trying to get from one spot to another and to take meaningful notes without being wiped out. This would be great, at my convenience, and I would not be under the pressure of missing something that I really wanted to "attend". Please enter me for a free ticket. hoshawj@bellsouth.net

All I can say is WOW !!!! I am loving that they have added the Kids classes and SO Much about taking care of yourself as a Mom including Finding time for Fitness. There are also many workshops about getting the Bible into your life and your children's lives. I NEED that guidance. Unfortunatley this is NOT a year that I can afford to attend. I did attend last year and LOVED every moment! I spend hours listening into the live workshops then several more hours going thru all the stuff in the Grab Bag !! It was truly amazing !! I am entering this contest to hopefully win a ticket, so I can attend this year too but if not, I pray the experience touches someone elses life, the way last year's touched mine ! Blessings, Jessica Jesstwins01@comcast.net

Besides, you, I'm really excited to see Israel Wayne and Kathy Kuhl as part of your line-up. It's also great that there are things for the children this time.

This sounds so wonderful. Of course I'd love to listen to your talks Terri. As a relatively young home schooler, I'd love to know how to make this a succuessful venture. And as for the multi-level homeschooling talk you're giving, will you also address homeschooling with a baby, toddler and preschooler all home too? That will be my situation next year! I feel terrible doing this but I'm finding that with a lot of little ones in tow, the only way I can surviveis to use a lot of workbooks. Is this my preferred homeschool method? Of course not! But how do I meet the needs of my little ones (and the ever dilapidated looking house!) while embarking on more time intensive but fun and memorable hands on projects that my kids would love? I'm afraid I'm at a loss! So I'd appreciate any advice I could get!
As for the rest of the conference, I love the fact that it's so well rounded! You get a little bit of every subject here! I also love the fact that they have kids programs too. And the fact that you don't have to be present to hear it all. Again, with all the little kids, the best I can do is snippets of time here and there after they're all asleep. Over all, this sounds wonderful!

Unknown said...

I love the concept. What a great idea! It sounds like a great bargain, too, because you get so much, but money is just too tight around here right now. So I hope I win a free ticket! The only thing I would wish for is more information about the grab bag. And one subject I'd love to see covered (maybe I just missed it) is how to organize all of your online resources. I'm overwhelmed already with all of the resources I have! Thanks for the opportunity!

What a great idea! I would love to be able to listen to these talks slowly and to have time to think about each one and implement the ideas one at a time. I see myself listening to them while I go walking, which would give me extra motivation to get out and walk!

I see a lot of talks that would be helpful to me right now, such as learning styles, teaching literature, teaching multiple ages, and building a home library. These are just a few of the sessions that appeal to me. The classes for children sound helpful, too.

Thanks for the chance!
