Update on the opinion poll...

Wow, there has been a dramatic shift in the survey results. Here are the latest numbers:

Homeschooling on a Dime - 15
What You Child Needs to Know When - 27

Would you like to express your opinion? I am trying to decide which topic I should write about for a 5 day ecourse for beginning homeschool parents. The course would be free.

My initial thought was that I would write a 5 day class on the topic of What Your Child Needs to Know and When. However, with the economy the way it is and an uncertain financial future on the horizon, I started to wonder if a better topic might be Homeschooling on a Dime. That is why I initially turned to you, my readers, for help.

I am leaning back towards my original topic and will probably get started on it this weekend. Thank you so much for your opinions! And they are still welcome, by the way. Please do share your thoughts. Your feedback is so valuable to me!

Terri -- I prefer the homeschooling on a dime because I prefer to spend our money on things like living history trips and such so the curriculum needs to be as inexpensive as possible...

Thanks,
Sallie

Terri,
If it's not too late, I would like to put in my two cents (we were gone over the weekend - to the Biltmore Estate!). I would like to see the "What Your Child Needs to Know When" ebook. This is our ninth year, but I'm so neurotic that I always worry I'm missing something.
Thanks!

I would probably enjoy either topic, but I know that myself and many, many other homeschooling moms have discussed the fact that information concerning what our children need to know, year-by-year, is not easily accessible to homeschooling families. That would definitely be my choice!

Terri,

I think I would enjoy "What Your Child Needs to Know and When". I think it would give home schooling parents a peace of mind that their children were on track.

Thanks,

I have to agree with the majority. We always find what we need to school our kids (probably more than enough) but it's nervewracking to make sure you've got them "up" to where they need to be.

I know I'm late weighing in and it may be a moot point now, but I tend to steer away from What Your Child Needs To Know When type of books,as I find them very subjective and sometimes discouraging if your child is not among the average or above children.

Just a thought!

I think I'd like the Homeschooling On a Dime best. My family has been hit hard by the economy. My DH was downsized back in February and despite littering the entire West Coast (and a few other states)with resumes, he just found a steady job last week! God has provided like you wouldn't believe but I was absolutely on the lookout for ways to save money at every turn.
